Victor Valley Wastewater Reclamation Agency
TRG worked with VVWRA for many years, helping the agency inform and educate the public and other stakeholders about its water reclamation project which included several subregional water recycling plants. TRG developed a project logo and two strategic plans; coordinated and facilitated a Subregional Advisory Committee; and created numerous publications and a project website. TRG assisted the agency through the CEQA process with meetings, presentation materials and strategic planning. TRG also developed VVWRA’s award-winning school education program which included presentation materials, microbe trading cards and activities for elementary school children.

Communication tools included a recycled water website, as well as a brochure, various newsletters, fact sheets and posters for the program. Some collateral was published in Spanish as well.

The VVWRA agency brochure features the joshua tree and a desert theme.

TRG helped VVWRA with school outreach by developing a treatment plant tour and signage, classroom presentation and marketing effort to get schools to sign up for tours.

As part of the school program, TRG developed a short movie, “Sludge-Eating Microbes – How Cool is That” that is shown to students in either the classroom or during treatment plant tours.
The cards were also developed and distributed so that each student received a pack. The cards reinforced the treatment tour information and classroom presentation.

The Plan describes how VVWRA needed to educate and inform various stakeholders including the general public, elected officials and media about this new source of water; and its benefits to the community.
